Our History

Formed in 1962, Christian Savings was originally set up as Baptist Savings. From the early days, we have existed to help fund the growth and development of the Kingdom in New Zealand. In recent years we have changed our rules to widen our reach and allow other Christian denominations and para-church entities to benefit from our services.

From our very first loan in 1962 of helping churches acquire pews for their congregation, to currently having over $100 million in lending, the journey of Christian Savings has been enthralling and looks certain to stay that way in years to come.

We are now New Zealand’s only licenced charitable non-bank deposit taker.
